Beach bingo nets $17,000 for Miriam’s Table

March 11, 2024

Miriam's Table hosted its fourth annual bingo fundraiser Feb. 29, and the sold-out event raised $17,000 for the charity. In all, 240 attendees enjoyed 10 games of bingo, a 50/50 raffle, and live and silent auctions.

Miriam's Table is a child nutrition center based in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where children face chronic malnutrition. Co-founder and board President Susie Keefer presented a short video outlining how the program feeds 350 children five days a week. During the event, 52 annual sponsorships were received from individuals and corporations. A $155 sponsorship feeds one child for a year.

Looking forward to celebrating its 10th anniversary this October, Miriam’s Table team members hope to expand their services by building a healthcare center in the future.

The event planning team included Theresa Ferree, Jaclyn Keefer, Reber Whitner, Stephanie Manos, Megan Nehrbas, Susie Keefer and Bill Quinn, who served as emcee. Bingo callers were DJ Sharon Messina and Bryan Hecksher.
