Biking across the country to appreciate our landscape and its challenges

Gazette reader Peter McLean enjoys every bit of the beautiful country we live in. In support of that, he took a five-week bike tour across the country beginning in La Push, Washington. After long and tiring days, and the help of many good samaritans along the way, he made it all the way to the C&O Canal. A sign that hangs from his handlebars reads. Biking to Appreciate…our landscape and its challenges (e.g. climate change, biodiversity loss); please get outdoors and enjoy and appreciate our wondrous and sustaining and beautiful natural world and respond (e.g. walk and bike more, adjust your thermostat, recycle better…) and consider supporting, among others, Chesapeake Climate Action Network (CCAN) and The College of William and Mary Center of Conservation Biology (ccbbirds.org).
