A Bridgeville man faces charges in connection with a March burglary in Georgetown.

Delaware State Police say Lester Alcantara, 24, went to a home March 1 on Widgeon Road and entered through a bedroom window. Once inside, police said, Alcantara knocked over items and stole money before fleeing. Troopers recovered fingerprints at the scene, and issued a warrant for Alcantara’s arrest March 29.

On the same day, Alcantara was taken into custody by the Seaford Police Department and turned over to Troop 4. While in custody at Troop 4, police said, they found about 30 Oxycodone pills hidden inside his belt line. Alcantara was charged with felony theft greater than $1,500, possession of a controlled substance tier 1 quantity, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 3, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $5,000 secured bond.
