Cape Gazette goes to Great Britain

May 1, 2024

Lewes neighbors Diane O’Marrah and Peggy Dwyer visited the spectacular countries of England, Wales, and Scotland in November. The trip began in beautiful London, England. Then, a 14-day cruise aboard the Island Princess whisked them off to Guernsey; Holyhead, Wales; Liverpool, Newcastle, and Portland, England; and Glasgow, Shetland Islands, Invergordon, and Edinburgh, Scotland. Diane and Peggy are pictured in front of Caernarfon Castle in Holyhead, Wales. Caernarfon Castle is a medieval fortress in north-west Wales, dating back to 1283. King Charles had his original investiture at the castle in 1961 when he became Prince of Wales. Some scenes of the Netflix series “The Crown” were filmed at the castle.
