The Cape girls’ tennis squad moved to 2-0 with a 5-0 victory over visiting Seaford April 9 on the Vikings’ newly resurfaced courts.
Cape freshman Abby Hazzard defeated Fabrina Prosper 6-0, 6-0 at first singles. Cape’s second singles player Rachel Ramjattansingh defeated Martine Laguerre 6-0, 6-0. Sia Patel won at third singles with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Seaford’s Brianna Walker.
The Cape first doubles team of Kathryn Costello and Kyli Doyon-Baridon downed Seaford’s Laura Charles and Kaitlyn Owens 6-0, 6-2. Cape’s second doubles team of Mya and Julia DiSabatino defeated Seaford’s Shama Estimable and Staelle Janvier 6-0, 6-0.
The Vikings returned to the courts April 10, when they shut out Sussex Central 5-0.
Hazzard defeated Olivia Marzullo 6-0, 6-0 at first singles. Ramjattansingh defeated Marta Yoc-Perez 6-0, 6-0 at second singles. Patel won at third singles with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Carmela Marzullo.
Costello and Doyon-Baridon downed Elizabeth Shaub and Kaira Jackson 6-4, 6-2 in first doubles, and Mya and Julia DiSabatino defeated Taryn Harris and Sonja Winger in second doubles 6-3, 6-3.
