Tower Beach FC summer camps set

Tower Beach FC will host a youth summer soccer camp series this year. All camps are $175 and held at Cape Henlopen High School. Camp dates are June 17-21, July 8-12 and July 22-26. For more information or to register, go to towerbeachfc.com.

Unitarian Universalists online auction kicks off April 27

The Unitarian Universalists of Southern Delaware will host its 2024 UUSD Awesome Annual Auction starting at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 27, and continuing through 4 p.m., Saturday, May 4.

To peruse, bid, purchase and pay for items online, all are invited to go to fundraiser.bid/uusd. Items up for bidding include artist creations, specialty craft items, unique collectables, jewelry, event tickets and many one-of-a-kind treasures.

Shoppers can pick up purchased items from 2 to 4 p.m., Monday, May 6, at the UUSD church, 30486 Lewes-Georgetown Highway, Lewes, where volunteers will bring purchased items to people in their vehicles. Some larger items include delivery, and other pickup arrangements can be made if needed.

UUSD is a welcoming and progressive spiritual community with a faith rooted in love and justice. Proceeds from this year’s annual auction will support its mission to nurture spiritual growth, embrace diversity, work for justice and strive for a loving world. Food Bank Milford sets senior health fair April 30

The Food Bank of Delaware will host a senior health fair from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Tuesday, April 30, at 102 Delaware Veterans Blvd., Milford.

The event will provide resources and support for older adults. With 30 vendors in attendance, the fair will give seniors access to a wide range of resources, giveaways and information targeted to help improve their health and well-being. Attendees will also receive free fresh produce and other pantry essentials.

Vendors include: Bayhealth, Delaware 2-1-1, Delaware Diabetes Coalition, Delaware Division of Public Health/Division for the Visually Impaired, Pace Your Life, Sussex County Health Coalition and University of Delaware Cooperative Extension.

The event is open to all seniors, and there is no cost to attend. Preregistration is requested. To sign up, go to fbd.org/senior-health-fair.

Milton Garden Club scholarship applications due April 30

The Milton Garden Club is now accepting applications for scholarships in two categories. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, April 30. Applicants must either be graduating high school seniors pursuing postsecondary education or full-time students attending a college or university in Delaware. They must be legal residents of Sussex County and demonstrate a commitment to the study of landscape or ornamental horticulture; landscape design and architecture; agribusiness marketing and management; plant science including sustainable landscapes, production horticulture, plant pathology, plant biology and genetics, soils and environmental quality; or another similar related field.

MLK organization scholarship applications due April 30

The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Organization Sussex County Inc. is accepting scholarship applications from graduating high school seniors in Sussex County. The scholarship was established to help support local students who want to pursue higher education and are interested in perpetuating King’s legacy, vision and dream. Sunshine Circle Club scholarship applications due April 30

The Sunshine Circle Club in Sussex County, whose motto is Women Involved with Community, is now accepting scholarship applications from 2024 graduating high school students. UUSD social justice grant applications due April 30

The Unitarian Universalists of Southern Delaware, Lewes, will accept grant applications until Tuesday, April 30, from nonprofits for special projects serving Sussex County. The grants are made possible by the Roy Parks Memorial Social Justice Fund, which is administered by the UUSD Social and Environmental Justice Committee. Chipotle dining to benefit SDTR May 1

Xi Sigma Chapter, Beta Sigma Phi will host a dine and donate fundraiser for Southern Delaware Therapeutic Riding from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, at Chipotle, 36453 Seaside Outlet Drive, Rehoboth. Charitable giving workshop set May 2

InFocus Financial Advisors Inc. has partnered with Delaware Money School to host a program on charitable giving at 10 a.m., Friday, May 2, at Lewes Public Library. Topics covered will include up-to-date, efficient strategies for making the most of charitable inclinations; local giving opportunities and community resources; how to navigate current and future tax laws to maximize charitable contributions; and how any amount to charitable organizations can make a big difference in the local community. Milford day of prayer set May 2

The Milford Area Ministerial Association will host Day of Prayer in the Park from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Thursday, May 2, at Bicentennial Park, 210 NE Front St., Milford.

With the theme, Lift Up the Word, Light Up the World, attendees will pray together for the town, leaders, teachers, families, children and the country. Facilitators will ask God to grant wisdom, direction and guidance, that all might have peace.

NARFE lunch reservations due May 2

NARFE Chapter 1690 will hold a luncheon meeting at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, May 9, at 1776 Steakhouse in the Midway Shopping Center, Route 1, Rehoboth Beach. Guest speaker will be Trinidad Navarro, Delaware insurance commissioner. Reservations must be made by emailing luncheon@narfe-de.org by Thursday, May 2. Cost is $19 per person including gratuities. Payment is due upon arrival by cash or check made out to NARFE Chapter 1690.  Attendees are asked to arrive by 11:30 a.m. to facilitate check-in.
