Delaware breast cancer update set May 15

April 23, 2024

The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition will host the 26th Annual Breast Cancer Update from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, via Zoom or in person at Goldey-Beacom College in Wilmington.

The breast cancer update will again be offered as an educational conference free to the public, but advance registration is required.

A panel of leading medical breast cancer experts will discuss the latest developments in treatment and care for breast cancer patients, survivors and their families, physicians, nurses, students and allied health professionals. Leading medical experts will speak on topics including technological breakthroughs in mammography, mental health and survivorship therapy, and life-changing techniques like alternatives available for breast reconstruction.

Avani Virani, DBCC board president, said, “As the science and technology surrounding breast cancer diagnosis and treatments continues to evolve, DBCC, through its annual breast cancer update, strives to bring awareness and education to those advances. We bring local and regional experts together to inform and better educate our community of breast cancer survivors. As the chair of the board of directors and a physician myself, I can’t overstate the value that this program brings to our community and am thrilled for this year’s event as we have put together a fantastic program.”

Certificates of attendance documenting four contact hours and four continuing education units will be available to nurses, social workers and other healthcare professionals.
