Dogfish Head to host Weekend of Compelling Ales & Spirits March 22-24

March 14, 2024

Dogfish Head Craft Brewery’s Weekend of Compelling Ales & Spirits, known to showcase its most obscure libations and delectable food pairings, is set for Friday to Sunday, March 22 to 24.

Folks are invited to explore a myriad of beverage concoctions and beer-inspired food pairings throughout three days of festivities, including a kickoff party, a guided tasting experience and a special lobster brunch. Tickets for Dogfish Head’s Weekend of Compelling Ales & Spirits are on sale now, and all events are ticketed separately.

New at this year’s festival, Dogfish Head is teaming up with Atlantic Sea Farms, a woman-run, regenerative seaweed farming company, for the launch of a brand-new collaboration, Siren’s Kiss Garlic Kelp Flavored Vodka (40% ABV).

A true message in a bottle filled with love and respect for the sea, this flavored vodka is distilled with sustainably farmed kelp from Atlantic Sea Farms, garlic and smoked peppercorns, then rested on fresh dill, giving it a culinary kick sure to please any pickle lover. The Maine-based seaweed farming company works with fishermen to grow regeneratively farmed kelp to adapt to and mitigate the effects of climate change. Siren’s Kiss is best enjoyed in a dirty martini or Bloody Mary while toasting to the wonderment of the ocean.

“Dogfish Head gets its name from the jut of land off Boothbay Harbor, Maine, where I grew up in the summers,” said Sam Calagione, Dogfish Head founder and brewer. “We source a lot of fresh seafood direct from artisanal companies and fishermen along the Maine coast for our Chesapeake & Maine restaurant. One of Atlantic Sea Farms’ kelp farms is located in the waters directly off the Dogfish Head Peninsula. We are excited to welcome their team to celebrate the release of this sea-centric collaboration.”

Folks can purchase bottles of Siren’s Kiss exclusively at Dogfish Head’s coastal Delaware properties beginning March 22. Cocktails made with Siren’s Kiss will be available for on-site consumption at Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats, Chesapeake & Maine and the Milton Brewery throughout the weekend.

Dogfish Head and Atlantic Sea Farms have also teamed up to craft Mount & Ocean (5.5% ABV), a pale ale made with ingredients that nod to both the mountains and the sea. Mount & Ocean is brewed with Blue Ox malts from Maine, toasted pine nuts, balsam fir sea salt, sea asparagus, rocky mountain honey and kelp puree from Atlantic Sea Farms. It’s available only on draft at Dogfish Head’s Milton Brewery while supplies last.
