Episcopal Church opens new thrift shop in Midway shopping center

Location is second All Saints store on Coastal Highway
September 15, 2023

The doors are now open at the Episcopal Parish of All Saints’ Church and St. George’s Chapel Thrift Shop at Midway, the group’s second location on Coastal Highway.

“It’s a soft opening,” said store manager Joanna Carty, who was sweeping the sidewalk out front in preparation for opening day Sept. 12.

By noon, there was a steady stream of customers.

The 7,500-square-foot store is already filled with furniture, clothing and accessories, almost anything bargain hunters would look for.

It is located in the space formerly occupied by the Beebe Auxiliary Treasure Chest.

The original All Saints Thrift Shop is still open in the Rehoboth Beach Plaza shopping center in the Forgotten Mile near Rehoboth Beach.

The mission of both stores is to raise money for community outreach.

In an interview in June, Carty said the thrift store gave $220,000 to organizations like Beebe Healthcare, Community Resource Center and Camp Arrowhead in 2022.

All Saints is planning a ribbon cutting and official opening for the Midway thrift shop Wednesday, Oct. 18.
