Southern Delaware Therapeutic Riding is a volunteer-driven, nonprofit organization that was established in 1988. Its mission is to improve the physical and emotional wellbeing of children and adults living with disabilities through equine-assisted services in a supportive environment for riders and their families.

Jo Allegro Smith, SDTR executive director, said, “Our equine-assisted services are transformative and incredibly beneficial for children and adults with disabilities. This generous donation will go toward bringing two more horses and two more certified therapeutic riding Instructors on board so that we can accommodate additional participants in the program.”

The center currently has a waiting list of approximately 40 individuals.
