Healthy oceans will be environmental series topic May 1

April 25, 2024

The Lewes Public Library and environmental nonprofit the Nature Generation will debut a new online discussion series, No Planet B Conversations, at 5 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, via Zoom.

The inaugural event will feature Rusty Brainard, former National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration officer and founding chief of the Coral Reef Ecosystem Division at NOAA’s Pacific Islands Fisheries Science Center. Brainard will present on the topic of healthy oceans, followed by an opportunity for participants to ask questions and participate in a moderated conversation with others.

"With No Planet B Conversations, we are proud to host conversations about the health of our planet, and to facilitate the dialog among all of us as we learn more and share ideas to become better stewards of our one earth, our shared home," said Amy Marasco, founder and president of the Nature Generation. Throughout the year, series speakers will share their perspectives on climate change, healthy oceans, pollution, environmental regulation, recycling, clean air and water, and more.

To register, go to lewes.lib.de.us or call 302-645-2733. To listen to recorded conversations after the sessions, go to natgen.org.

The Nature Generation is an environmental nonprofit that inspires and empowers youth to make a difference in their communities as stewards of the environment through innovative programs in literature, science and the arts.
