Laurel woman dies in crash near Millsboro

A Laurel woman died Feb. 7 following a two-car crash west of Millsboro.

The crash happened at 6:31 a.m. when Elysia Garin, 35, was driving a 1994 Suzuki Cappuccino eastbound on Shiloh Church Road approaching Hardscrabble Road. At the same time, police said, a Salisbury man, 28, was driving a 2008 Ford Taurus heading westbound on Shiloh Church Road when Garin drove into the path of the Taurus while trying to turn left onto an access road. The front of the Taurus struck the side of the Suzuki, police said, and Garin was taken to an area hospital where she died. 

The man sustained minor injuries and refused treatment. Shiloh Church Road was closed for about 3 hours while the scene was investigated and cleared.
