Rescue workers from Milton Fire Department and Delaware Fish and Wildlife Natural Resources Police were on the scene Jan. 31 to help save a man whose kayak had capsized.

Michael Globetti, spokesman for Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, which oversees Natural Resources Police, said about 4 p.m. Milton Fire Department was on the scene in Wagamons Pond, where they found a man who was lying on top of his kayak to keep from falling into the water. Milton firefighters helped the man onto their boat until the Natural Resources Police arrived. The man was helped back to shore where he was treated for hypothermia, Globetti said. The kayaker was alert and coherent after Milton firefighters came to his aid, he said.
