Milton Little League celebrates opening day

April 18, 2024

Milton Little League held its opening-day events April 13, when teams rode on floats and in pickup truck beds from Milton Elementary School to the Little League park on Atlantic Avenue.

The teams were introduced and honors were bestowed for Hometown Hero. Games were then played on all fields.

“Opening day at Milton Little League has always been a special event to be part of,” said Milton Little League President Tony Willey. “I’ve gotten to not only play baseball on these fields as a child, but now I also get the privilege to be president of Milton Little League and get to make this an enjoyable experience for my kids and other children of the community. For the past 20 years, I’ve gotten to be a part of many great events that Milton Little League has hosted on these fields, but opening day definitely is the most fulfilling. Getting to see the excitement on the kids’ faces to play their first Little League game makes all the hard work year round worth it.”
