Nefesh Mountain Band to perform in Rehoboth Beach July 16

For the first time, the New York-based Nefesh Mountain Band will perform at the Delaware beaches this summer.

The band will offer a one-night show at 7 p.m., Sunday, July 16, at Epworth United Methodist Church, 19285 Holland Glade Road, Rehoboth Beach. The venue is well known for concerts that entertain the beach communities.

Seaside Jewish Community is presenting the group as part of its annual summer concert series.

Husband-and-wife team Eric Lindberg and Doni Zasloff lead the group and pioneer a blend that melds Jewish, folk, jazz, blues and bluegrass traditions.

Lindberg brings his musical background in jazz and classical forms to American roots music. He graduated with honors from Mason Gross School of the Arts with a jazz performance degree under guitarist and mentor Vic Juris and has toured extensively while cultivating his skillset and deep love for the guitar, banjo, mandolin and dobro.

His influential work as a composer, singer, guitarist and banjoist, together with Zasloff, is known in the Americana/roots community and the Jewish world today. Together they have recorded and shared the stage with many well-known performers. He is also a devoted advocate for the 5-string banjo, highlighting its importance and relevance in American folk music. Though the banjo has seldom been associated with Jewish music, Lindberg's innovative and modernized use of it with Nefesh Mountain is bridging the gap between American and Jewish traditions.

Zasloff is regarded among the most influential Jewish performers. She received the Simcha Award from the International Jewish Music Festival in Amsterdam, Holland, and has produced more than 10 albums and written two books while touring extensively throughout the United States, Canada, England, Australia and Israel.

Her unique background in singing, musical theater and Judaism makes her one of the most in-demand and unique artists today, and she brings these multifaceted talents directly to Nefesh Mountain, where she continues to enchant audiences with her voice and unlimited spirit, melodies and music.

Nefesh Mountain’s extensive concert tour schedule includes Grand Ole Opry, numerous festivals and Jewish organizations.

Tickets are $36 for adults. This year’s venue is easily accessible from Route 1 and has plenty of free parking.
