Sussex council not meeting April 23
Sussex County Council will not meet Tuesday, April 23. The next regularly scheduled meeting is at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 30, in the county administration building, 2 The Circle, Georgetown.
Sussex P&Z to discuss marijuana April 24
The Sussex County Planning & Zoning Commission will meet at 3 p.m., Wednesday, April 24, in the county administration building, 2 The Circle, Georgetown. Included on the agenda under old business is the county’s ordinance relating to marijuana establishments.
Lewes Board of Public Works meets April 24
The Lewes Board of Public Works will hold its regular monthly meeting at 4 p.m, Wednesday, April 24 at city hall.
The agenda includes discussion on a water and sewer extension request from residents of Hoornkill Avenue.

Cape school board meets April 25
The Cape Henlopen school board will meet at 6 p.m., Thursday, April 25, at Love Creek Elementary.
The board may take action on the 2024-29 Cape Henlopen Education Association contract, several policies and capital project change orders.
Special presentations will be given to Going the Extra Mile award winners and community partners.

Lewes council workshop set April 25
Lewes Mayor and City Council will hold a public workshop at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 25 at city hall.
The agenda includes a presentation of state marijuana legislation and regulations from the Delaware Office of the Marijuana Commissioner.

Lewes tree planting planned for April 26
The City of Lewes will commemorate Arbor Day with a tree planting at 8 a.m., Friday, April 26.
The event will be held at Lewes-to-Georgetown Trailhead, at the corner of Monroe Avenue and the entrance to the Lewes Public Library.
Parks and Marina Manager Janet Reeves said Sussex Tree will plant a Willow Oak and offer tips for proper planting and maintenance techniques.
All are welcome to attend.
DRBA collecting expired, unwanted medications April 27
The Delaware River & Bay Authority Police Department will participate as a collection site for the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s 26th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day initiative. Residents may bring their old, expired, unused and unwanted prescription medications to the police department from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 27, at the Cape May-Lewes Ferry terminal, 43 Cape Henlopen Drive, Lewes, for safe disposal.
