A Millsboro man found with fake DEA credentials, loaded guns and a heroin bag faces charges Feb. 14 after police say they found him asleep in his truck in Oak Orchard.

A trooper on patrol at 10:28 p.m. saw a Toyota Tacoma parked at a gas pump at the Royal Farms on Route 24, police said, and found Michael Marciano Jr., 34, who appeared to be asleep in the driver’s seat with the truck running.

After contacting Marciano, police said, the trooper saw drug paraphernalia in plain view, and found a 9mm Glock handgun concealed in Marciano’s waistband when he got out of the truck. Marciano showed signs of impairment, and after perfoming standardized field sobriety tests, police took him into custody for DUI. A search of Marciano’s person and truck uncovered a loaded .38 Smith & Wesson revolver, a loaded 9mm Glock handgun, a loaded 9mm Glock magazine, fictitious military and Drug Enforcement Administration identification cards, fictitious DEA badge and patches, one wax heroin bag and drug paraphernalia.

Marciano was transported to Troop 4 where he was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, two counts possession of a firearm within 10 years of a felony conviction, false impression of being a police officer, DUI, and other gun and drug charges. He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 3, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $38,400 secured bond.
