Local man launches weekly segment to spread the word of God
August 18, 2023

On Wednesday nights, Robb Leech has a come-to-Jesus moment. That’s when he sits down at his microphone and records the Lift Up Nations podcast. His goal is to get listeners to come to Jesus, through modern media.

“God put it on me to actually pastor to more people,” said Leech. “I didn’t want to start a church, but I’ll do anything to get the word out.”

Leech, who is a Delaware native, is the head of hospitality and a part of Men’s Ministries for the Solid Ground Church in Lewes.

Leech and a former co-host launched the Lift Up Nations podcast in June. Since then, Leech said, more than 300 people have downloaded episodes.

The format is simple: plainspoken discussion of Bible scripture.

“The goal is to teach the Bible to people in question terms. I take the scripture [and] break it down into questions, [then] talk about it. I plant the seed. God does the rest,” Leech said.

“Three people actually wanted to do their testimonies on our podcast, tell their story of what made them search for Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit in their life,” said Leech.

He and his former co-host also recorded a live baptism on the beach in Cape Henlopen State Park. In the future, Leech said he would like to do more baptisms and episodes on the road, outside Delaware. He also wants guests to join him on his podcast each week.

Leech said people who are not religious followers can learn from Lift Up Nations.

“[They can] see what Christianity is really like. If you don’t know God or Jesus or the Holy Spirit, our podcast will help you understand, and [you can] make your own decision,” said Leech.

Leech drops a new episode of Lift Up Nations every Wednesday night. It is available on Spotify, Apple and most other platforms where podcasts are found. It also has a big social media presence.

“We do Instagram, TikTok and Twitter. We have 1,000 views on TikTok,” said Leech.

Leech said any donations received will go to community organizations in Lewes and Rehoboth Beach.
