April 21, 2024

Delaware hosted its annual Ride to the Tide event April 14, drawing a little over 750 motorcycle enthusiasts from across the state and beyond for a scenic ride in support of Special Olympics Delaware.

The event, organized by the Delaware State Police, featured a 58-mile motorcycle ride starting at Rommel Harley-Davidson in Smyrna and ending at Love Creek Elementary outside Lewes. The event aimed to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics Delaware, a nonprofit organization that provides year-round sports training and athletic competition for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

The camaraderie among participants reflected the spirit of unity and support for a worthy cause, highlighting the community's commitment to inclusivity and philanthropy. Ride to the Tide continues to be a cherished tradition in Delaware, combining the thrill of the open road with the joy of giving back to the community.
