Slower Lower Short Film Festival entries due May 7

March 23, 2024

It’s time for local filmmakers to wrap up their production and send it in for consideration to Revival House’s annual Slower Lower Short Film Festival, set for 7 p.m., Sunday, June 9, at the Milton Theatre, 110 Union St., Milton.

Festival organizers welcome filmmakers of all ages to submit their original works for consideration. Seasoned professionals and up-and-coming visionaries alike are encouraged to share their stories with a big-screen audience. As with all Revival House’s local film festivals, there is absolutely no cost to filmmakers who submit films for consideration.

From dramas to comedies, from animation to sci-fi, the Slower Lower Short Film Festival celebrates the diverse world of top independent filmmakers from around the area. The screenings will be followed by an onstage question-and-answer session with the filmmakers, who will share their cinematic journeys with attendees.

The deadline is midnight Tuesday, May 7, to submit films that are fewer than 30 minutes in length. To enter, filmmakers must submit a waiver found on the Revival House website at revivalhousetheater.com and send a link of their film to therevivalhouse@gmail.com

Selected entries will be notified via email, and those filmmakers will have the opportunity to showcase their work on the big screen at Milton Theatre.

"We are thrilled to once again host the Slower Lower Short Film Festival at the Milton Theatre," said Rob Rector co-creator of Revival House. "This festival is a celebration of creativity and storytelling from our local filmmakers. We had such a strong lineup for last year’s Horror Trailer Challenge and are looking forward to showcasing the talent living in our area."

Tickets for the June 9 event are $10 general admission, or $5 for students and seniors. To purchase tickets, go to miltontheatre.com or call 302-684-3038.
