Thank you so much for the outpouring of support as I move into my new position as executive director of Village Volunteers. The work started by Jackie Finer and continued by Jackie Sullivan makes a huge impact on our community. I am excited to support our growing community of older adults, but we need your help.
As more and more of our local population are seniors, more of our services will be needed to help them age with dignity and at home. Our members need help with things like transportation to the doctor or grocery store, someone to take their trash to the curb, or just a friendly phone call to ward off social isolation. All of our members are ambulatory, so there is no lifting needed. To keep the cost low to members, we rely on volunteers for support. Many of our volunteers travel and some move from being volunteers to members. We constantly need to grow our volunteer pool. Please consider signing up as a volunteer with the Village. We have a great online system where you can check for opportunities and sign up for only the ones you want to do. We provide training to our volunteers so you will have the tools you need.
