Cape boys’ lax beats winless Dover 24-1

Vikings improve to 6-2 with tough games ahead

The Cape boys’ lacrosse team ran its season record to 6-2 April 19 at Legends Stadium with a 24-1 victory over Dover. The Senators dropped to 0-7 on the season. 

Cape was led in goal scoring with hat tricks from Braddock Smith, Mike Guenther and Jack Schell. Hank Anderson and Lucas Stevenson each had two goals.

Single goals were scored by Brenner Short, Ryan Morgan, Evan Burris, Grant Conway, Jordyn Preskenis, Mason Jack, Christian Cooke, Jukai Payne, Kolbe Green, Brady Schell and Davis Mault. 

Assists leaders for Cape were Guenther with five, Jack Schell and Morgan with two, and single assists from Short, Lucas Stevenson, Jack Huss, Ronan Presler and Brady Schell. 

Gus Musika had four saves in goal for the Vikings.

Cape will play three games in four days beginning at Milford (4-2) at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 24, followed by Smyrna (8-0) at 4 p.m., Friday, April 26, and Broadneck at 12 p.m., Saturday, April 27.
